The MiCiv Project

Bringing the military and civilian communities together in creative collaborations.

Our project aims to:

  • create opportunities for military veteran performing artists and civilian performing artists to collaborate on professional creative projects

  • offer veterans career transition pathways in the arts through mentorships and professional development and,

  • facilitate community engagement and education through public conversations between and within the military and civilian communities about the legacy of Canada’s military service men and women

We are creating a new stage work with CAF military modern veterans who are actors and Canadian dance artists.  With the support of our partners Roland Gossage Foundation, Toronto and the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, Kingston, we will present and tour the work in March 2026.

Our physical theatre work is about CAF Modern Veterans telling their own stories of service. These stories are powerfully moving, giving voice to living Canadian Veterans. We believe in the importance of our work in acknowledging CAF Veterans' service and educating ourselves about the Canadian Modern Veteran experience.

We have received initial funding from Veterans Affairs Canada, but we still have to meet our fundraising goal. We need your support to create and present the theatre work.

*The MiCiv Project is grateful for the support of the Roland Gossage Foundation, Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning,  Veterans Affairs Canada, Ripley Aquarium, SoulPepper Theatre, Toronto Symphony Orchestra and Roy Thomson Hall/Massey Hall.

Stronger Partnerships. Stronger Futures.
